2021年第59届欧洲儿科内分泌学会(ESPE)年会将于2021年9月22日至26日以线上会议形式举行，预计有超过3500名来自世界各地的儿科内分泌学家及相关专人士代表出席会议。

欧洲儿科内分泌学会（ESPE）是儿科内分泌学界规模最大、最受人尊敬的国际科学团体之一，于1965年在哥本哈根成立，目前在全球91个国家拥有超过1200名成员。ESPE旨在通过促进研究、教育和医疗实践，为世界各地患有内分泌疾病（包括糖尿病）的儿童和青少年提供最高水平的临床护理，促进儿科内分泌学和糖尿病学的卓越发展（未经许可，禁止复制摘录转载本站任何内容-领域国际医学会议网）。

Please note that abstracts are accepted on the understanding that the work has not been published or presented elsewhere.

Accepted abstracts will be presented at the virtual event as an ePoster or as an oral presentation, and will be published online in Hormone Research in Paediatrics.

Authors will be informed of the decision of their abstract in July 2021.

The abstract categories are:

• Diabetes and insulin
• Fat, metabolism and obesity
• Thyroid
• Bone, growth plate and mineral metabolism
• GH and IGFs
• Adrenals and HPA Axis
• Growth and syndromes (to include Turner syndrome)
• Pituitary, neuroendocrinology and puberty
• Sex differentiation, gonads and gynaecology or sex endocrinology
• Fetal, neonatal endocrinology and metabolism (to include hypoglycaemia)
• Multisystem endocrine disorders

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As you may be aware, the ESPE 2020 Meeting, which was due to take place in Liverpool, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  As you can appreciate, given the current global impact of COVID-19 we have been constantly monitoring the situation in regards to holding the ESPE Annual Meeting as a physical event in Liverpool in May 2021. We were hopeful that we would be able to continue with the face-to-face meeting. However, as time passes, it has become clear that it will not be possible to do so. Therefore, the decision has been made to convert the ESPE Liverpool programme to a fully virtual meeting, which will be referred to as ESPE 2021 Online. In addition to the change of format, the decision has also been made to move the meeting to 22 - 26 September 2021, which is when the Meeting normally takes place.

To confirm, the Liverpool Meeting is being rescheduled to a later year and more details will be released in due course.  I would like to thank Mehul Dattani (President), Poonam Dharmaraj (Vice-President) and the whole of the local organising committee (LOC) for their incredible hard work in planning to host this year’s ESPE Meeting, their dedication to the Meeting during the most challenging of times as a result of the pandemic postponing the original September dates, and their understanding at this latest deeply disappointing, but necessary decision. We all very much look forward to Liverpool hosting an ESPE Meeting in the future when we will be able to experience this wonderful venue and city in person and be able to appreciate everything it has to offer.

Our recent delivery of ESPE Connect Online has provided a great foundation to produce another successful virtual event, and we will work extensively to incorporate more content and improve certain aspects, such as personal interaction.
