If your abstract is accepted as part of ESPE 2022, your work will be accessible to thousands of clinicians and researchers working in paediatric endocrinology.

Authors will be informed of the decision of their abstract in June 2022.

Abstract Guidelines

• Abstracts must be no longer than 400 words.
• Do not include your title or author list in the body of the abstract as these will be added separately.
• Abstracts and titles must be submitted in English.
• Tables can be included in the abstract text but will be included in the word count.
• Figures and images will not be accepted by the submission system.
• ESPE do not accept encore abstracts – any abstract previously presented at another congress will need to include new data and be re-written for consideration for ESPE 2022.
• At least one author from every accepted abstract must register to attend ESPE 2022.

The abstract categories are:

• Diabetes and insulin
• Fat, metabolism and obesity
• Thyroid
• Bone, growth plate and mineral metabolism
• GH and IGFs
• Adrenals and HPA Axis
• Growth and syndromes (to include Turner syndrome)
• Pituitary, neuroendocrinology and puberty
• Sex differentiation, gonads and gynaecology or sex endocrinology
• Fetal, neonatal endocrinology and metabolism (to include hypoglycaemia)
• Multisystem endocrine disorders

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are delighted to invite you to the 60th Annual ESPE Meeting to be held in Rome, Italy, from 15-17 September 2022. The theme we have chosen for the 60th ESPE Meeting is “Personalized Medicine in Paediatric Endocrinology”.

The tremendous advancement in molecular biology has led to innovative approaches to many endocrine conditions thus permitting more accurate diagnoses, tailored therapies and adequate genetic counselling. Whereas the personalized medicine approach has been increasingly applied to diagnose and treat endocrine disorders in adults over the last decade, its implementation in paediatrics is still at the beginning.  Therefore, the Meeting will focus on the application of personalized medicine to the child with endocrine disorders.  The main discoveries in genetic/genomic research as well as their present and future impact on the management of paediatric conditions will be extensively covered in plenaries and symposia.

We are proud to host the 60th meeting of our Society and excited about the fact that Rome Meeting will be the first in-person meeting after the long interruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We do believe that the “eternal city” is the ideal location to resume and create new friendships, networking and collaboration.

The programme will, as usual, include Plenary and Symposia lectures by outstanding international speakers, Meet-the-Expert and How Do I… sessions by experienced clinicians who are world leaders in their fields, Controversy and Novel Advances sessions are designed to make us re-evaluate the way we think and work. Free Communications will allow both experienced colleagues and their younger trainees the opportunity to present their work in oral sessions, and there will be ample opportunities for further presentations and discussion in the poster sessions, which will include both physical and electronic posters.

The Meeting will be held in the “La Nuvola” Convention Center. “La Nuvola” is one of the most iconic buildings in the entire city of Rome. This visionary building by Massimiliano Fuksas has been inaugurated in 2016 and since then it has been acknowledged worldwide as a fine example of contemporary architecture, characterized by eco-friendly materials and innovative technological solutions.

We look forward to warmly welcoming you to Rome, to actively participate in a Meeting that will be rich in both basic and clinical science, and that will allow delegates from around the world to present and discuss their latest findings taking inspiration from history and the beauty of Rome.

Delegates who are unable to attend the ESPE 2022 Meeting in Rome will be able to register to view the full meeting programme on-demand following the physical event taking place. You will be sent a link to access the ESPE on-demand platform following the Physical meeting taking place on 15-17 September 2022.

Please note: No cancellation or refund requests will be accepted for ESPE on-demand registrations.

* Concession Rate: Participants applying for the Concession Rate for the ESPE 2022 meeting must be delegates who are Nurses, Allied Health Care Professionals, Fellows in Training, Basic Scientists in Training, from middle or low income countries as defined by the World Bank* or Retired ESPE Member (If you are registering as a Retired ESPE Member you must use the ESPE Member online registration link).

The Concessionary rate will not apply if the registration is being paid by the industry. The Concessionary rate will only apply if the registration is being paid by the participant or institution.
