I hereby happily present Fukuoka, Japan, as the site for AOCCN 2017. The City of Fukuoka
is one of the top-ranking convention destinations in Japan, with pleasant climate and moderate
traffic density complemented by rich natural environment and beautiful cityscape. Although our
city is not as well-known as other big cities in Japan, I am very positive that you will enjoy the
charm of Fukuoka with a pleasant surprise. I sincerely hope to share the opportunity with you to
exchange and interact in the latest field of child neurology in the relaxing atmosphere of this
biggest City in the south of Japan. I also would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to your
compassions for the difficulties we have been experiencing since the tremendous disaster.
People of Japan are truly encouraged by kind assistance and sympathy from all over the world,
and the process of restoration is already on the way. Incidentally, Fukuoka City is more than
1,000km away from the site of the earthquake, Tsunami and nuclear power plant, which
prevented us from being afflicted by any damage at all. We feel even stronger responsibility now
to resume economic and academic activities in order to boost energy to other areas of Japan.
I strongly believe that your support for holding AOCCN 2017 in Fukuoka will be not only
great influence to recovery of Japan but also inspiration to members of AOCNA.
