Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Welcome to the 14th ESMINT Congress 2022 – Nice!

The preparations for this wonderful annual meeting started a year ago and I would like to personally thank each one of you; delegates, faculty, Scientific Committee, sister societies, Industry partners, ESMINT Office and ExBoard.

We are very happy to celebrate with you this year 20 Years of ISAT study, a pivotal point in the development of our specialty, offering our patients ever-growing & innovative minimally invasive treatments.

We are excited this year to introduce various new sessions to keep pace with our dynamic speciality, to develop stroke treatment wherever needed and to shape the future of our speciality.

The Stroke development session will discuss the difficulties we face in delivering an optimal stroke service in some areas and how to overcome them, including interesting experiences, initiatives and an open round-table discussion.

We will learn through the ‘R&Ds meet the Experts’ session how to bring your innovative ideas to reality, followed by an extended discussion on our needs for tomorrow, the future directions in our field and their feasibility.

We will also witness, for the first-time at our meeting, recorded cases during the ‘Innovative New Techniques’ session, such as endovascular shunting, advances in transvenous embolizations of bAVMs and Dynamic Myelography and EVT for IC Hypotension.

The ‘Start-up Alley’ is a new initiative this year to provide a window for start-ups to introduce their innovations to a bigger audience and to interact with all of our community.

We are giving special attention this year to clinical cases, more discussion time & interactive exchange. A mobile application will be introduced to enhance the interaction between attendees and panel.

The meeting will also focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, remote solutions and their role in diagnosis, communication, networking, virtual tools in angio-suite and therapeutic precision.

The joint sessions with SNIS, ESO & EANS will include various important topics and build on the collaboration between our Societies. The meeting will also be transmitted and translated live into other languages to expand the reach of our teaching & education.

I would like to thank the EYMINT and ETMINT groups for their huge efforts this year in organizing their parallel sessions. The important content of their program is a great opportunity for learning and education to our younger colleagues, nurses and technicians.

The meeting will end with ‘Morbi-mortality Corner’, where we learn the most, with interesting critical situations that we could all face.

Alongside the extensive scientific content, we will have the chance also to share many social activities and moments together this year: the networking event, a morning Yoga session and ESMINT’s Morning Run on the second day of meeting!
