Theme - Embracing Orthopaedic Innovations : From Evidence to Inventions

Orthopaedic practice now stands at its crossroads in the 21st century.

Rapid technological advancements have made possible treatments we could only dream about previously. And with this, a paradigm shift in our practices. However, with new opportunities come new challenges including rising healthcare costs, accessibility, increasing subspecialization and compartmentalization of care. Adoption of evidence-based practices is fundamental to ensuring cost-effective healthcare for sustainability.

The rapidly aging population, increased survival and maturation of arthroplasty practices presents increased demands in the realms of fragility fractures, periprosthetic fractures and revision surgeries. Advances and recent recommendations in osteoporosis management is critical for access and sustainability in the care of our aging population. Yet, unresolved challenges remain. Device-related infections continue to plague our practices and an improved understanding of pathogenesis and novel products provides a ray of hope for our patients.

This meeting curates and showcases emerging concepts and solutions through the lens of various Orthopaedic subspecialties.  It also provides opportunities for regional collaborations to showcase state-of-the-art technological translation into clinical care. Singapore is known for its rich multiethnic origins. Just as our founders from lands near and far worked together for a better future, it is in unity, of our subspecialties, stakeholders, and multinational partners that we can speak a common language. For the only interest to be considered, is the best interest of the patient.

Our potpourri of cultures and flavors provide the apt backdrop for a fruitful exchange of state-of-the-art  knowledge and their translation into clinical solutions for our current challenges.
