Abstract Types

Submissions are encouraged for the presentation types listed below. Authors may indicate whether they want to be considered for either format, or only for oral presentation. Acceptance for presentation is based on peer review.

Required Sections for Both Types:
Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions

Scientific Oral Presentation:
Podium presentation during a plenary session followed by brief Q&A. All oral presentations must be given in person in Cape Town.

Scientific Poster:

• In-person presenters: Printed poster presentation during the attended poster session on Friday, 31 October 2025, as well as a PDF for the virtual platform.
• Virtual presenters: PDF and optional video recording, with opportunities to answer questions

All in-person and online registrants for the Conference (31 October - 2 November 2025) will have access to the virtual meeting platform for six months. Recordings that have been released by presenters also will be made available to registrants and ISPD members on the ISPD website after the virtual platform closes.

*Allied Health Professional registration is reserved for non-PhD (or equivalent) genetic counselors, junior scientists, sonographers, nurses, technologists, etc.  Registration includes two months of complimentary membership (1 November – 31 December 2025).

**Trainee (with Free Membership) - Discounted rates are provided for individuals currently enrolled full-time as a resident, fellow, or graduate student in a program leading to relevant degrees or certifications in prenatal diagnosis or therapy. Note: Documentation of trainee status is required. Trainee membership is free, but ISPD requires that you provide the anticipated beginning and end dates of your training program.
