The FENS Forum is Europe’s largest international neuroscience congress, covering all domains from basic to translational research. Occurring biennially since 1998, the Forum has become a premier scientific event that attracts thousands of scientists and students from around the world to celebrate and share discoveries about the brain and central nervous system.

The submission fee is 83,30 EUR (VAT included) and it will not be reimbursed in case of cancellation or rejection of an abstract.
Abstract Topics Submission Information
- Presentation format: Authors can submit abstracts for poster presentations only.
- Abstract category: Selected between a Scientific Research Abstract (Describes original scientific studies that involve data collection, experiments, and at least preliminary results) and a Programmatic and Educational Abstract (Describes initiatives related to education, outreach, advocacy, training, history, or other non-research activities.)
- Abstract Topic: Choose up to two topics from the FENS Forum list of topics and themes.
- Abstract title: The title should not exceed 25 words.
- Body text: Limited to 250 words. We recommend using word-processing software (for example Microsoft Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Typing your text directly into the field is not recommended. Please be sure not to include extra spaces and symbols, as these are included in the word count.
- Abstracts should describe: Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusions. They should be submitted in plain paragraph, without sectioning into headings.
- Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears. To avoid problems during submission, please select special characters behind the $ symbol button or write them fully (e.g. ALPHA)
- Graphs, figures and images (only one per abstract) can be added in JPG, PNG and GIF format by clicking on the Insert Image icon. Word count is not affected when graphs/tables/images are added with the Insert Image icon. (The maximum file size of each figure/image is 5 MB. The maximum pixel size of the figure/image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixels. The minimum recommended resolution is 150 dpi, 300 dpi for images, 600 dpi for line art (charts). ). Tables are allowed with a maximum size of 10 columns x 10 rows.
- One table or one figure can be submitted per abstract by clicking on the Insert Table or insert image icons. Tables are allowed with a maximum size of 10 columns x 10 rows.
- Please note that due to the European Accessibility Act, it is mandatory to add a short „alt text“ to your image. The alt text should describe what your image shows. It is used by screen readers and helps visually impaired readers to understand the image.
- Authors: Please add all contributors to the abstract in the appropriate order and with the correct and complete affiliations. Please make sure to accurately and consistently input your data within and across all FENS Forum forms (including full names, correct name orders, capitalisation, etc) to prevent mismatches.
- You will be asked to confirm that you will disclose any conflict of interest in your presentation at the Forum, and will have to confirm all Rules and Conditions.
- To be able to revise your abstract until the submission deadline, please click on the “Save” button located at the bottom of the submission form. The abstract submission deadline is 27 January 2026, 23:59 hours CET.
- After submission, no further changes will be possible!

The FENS Forum is Europe’s largest neuroscience congress and welcomes participants from around the world. The Forum offers the perfect opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and learn from one another. You will also have the chance to connect with FENS member societies, and committee members and engage with senior editors of the European Journal of Neuroscience (EJN), the official journal of FENS.
