The 26th Human Genome Meeting - Human Genome Organisation (HUGO)

Human Genome Meeting (HGM) is a series of annual conferences organised by the Human Genome Organisation (HUGO). It started as a meeting dedicated for Human Genome Mapping. Over the years, with the completion of the Human Genome Project, HGM has evolved from a small targeted meeting into an international scientific conference for all genetic and genomic researchers; an excellent platform for industry partners and bio-technology companies as well as pharmaceutical companies; and a fantastic reunion for fellow scientists and networking opportunity for established and young investigators.

HGM centres on a stimulating and interesting program of plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, poster presentations, lectures and social events. Our scientific program covers a wide range of topics, spanning from system biology and epigenomics to genomic technologies; from drug discovery to gene therapy, pharmogenomics and genomic medicine; from computation genomics and bioinformatics to genetic and genomic databases; aiming to share most up-todate research trends, results, information and databases which often sparks off new collaboration opportunities. HGM also provides an arena for presentation and discussion of more focused studies in human genetics and genomics. Working together with the HUGO subcommittees, there will also be meetings specially catered for discussion on ethics, related impact on so.

Abstract submission deadline: March 31, 2023.

Each registrant may submit abstract(s) of his/her/their work for presentation during the Human Genome Meeting 2023. It is expected that the abstracts will include original data not previously published in a peer-review journal or the proceedings of a national meeting.

Only those abstracts that have been reviewed and selected by the Abstract Review Committee may be presented. Abstract submissions will only be accepted electronically through the abstract submission portal; paper abstracts will not be accepted.

Instructions

• All abstracts must be submitted online through the official website.
• Abstracts must be prepared in English only
• Abstracts sent by e-mail, fax or regular post will not be accepted
• The text should not exceed 3000 characters
• Authors who submit an abstract of a paper confirm that they have not previously published these data, that they have not previously presented them at a large national annual scientific meeting, and that they are not planning to present or publish them.

The theme of the HGM2023 – “The Human Genomes Project: bringing all the genomes and all the benefits of genomics to humanity” reflects the focus on genomics education which will be heavily involved in the scientific contents of the conference. HGM2023 will be a platform to highlight recent progresses in these fascinating new science and technologies. In addition, HGM2023 will bring in educational workshops and sessions for students and early-career scientists, combined with opportunities to present their works.

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visited cities in the southern hemisphere and is well known for its excellent atmosphere, panoramic surroundings, and beautiful beaches. The giant "Christ the Redeemer" statue at the top of Corcovado Mountain is one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World". Rio de Janeiro never fails to impress you with its modern outlook that reflects its progression. HGM 2023 will bring together renowned geneticists, clinicians, and doctors along with promising early-career professionals. We will have prominent keynote lectures, scientific sessions addressing recent advances in genomics, and fruitful discussions to promote exchange of data and ideas. Drawing on a truly broad-reaching and international line up of experts, HGM2023 promises to be both a dynamic forum for scientific exchange and a unique opportunity to bring together global expertise all focused on the subject of “The Human Genomes Project: bringing all the genomes and all the benefits of genomics to humanity”.
