The World Dental Congress (WDC) is a flagship event for FDI, strengthening ties and fostering collaboration within the global oral health community. To advance the science and practice of dentistry, WDC delivers a cutting-edge scientific programme, interactive forums covering the most relevant topics in dentistry, and a dental exhibition attended by the most prominent figures in the dental industry. The FDI World Dental Congress, held in a different country every year, offers a unique opportunity to meet with leaders of the oral health profession from around the globe.
Abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission site. (Faxes, photocopies or emailed copies will not be reviewed.)
Abstracts will be reviewed as submitted by the abstract deadline. No changes to abstract text, including correcting typographical errors, incorrect data, etc. will be permitted after this date.
Abstract authors can edit or withdraw their submitted abstracts until the submission deadline.
Abstracts must be submitted by the deadline of 17 April 2022.
General submission rules
1. Language
All abstracts must be prepared and presented in English only
2. Presentation type
Authors can submit abstracts for Oral Presentations or Posters (e-posters format).
However, the final presentation type of the accepted abstract is under the discretion of the congress scientific committee.
3. Research type
Projects being reported must be Original studies or Case reports. No literature reviews will be accepted.

5. Abstract content
Abstract Title shall be less than 10 words and express the research essence.
Abstract body :
Shall be less than 250 words.
(Do not include the title or authors in the abstract body, these items will be collected separately).
Shall include specific sections (see below item 6. Abstract Sections)
Shall not include any indication of the personal details of authors.
Shall avoid reference to institution names, locations, or funding sources.
Shall not include any tables, charts or graphics.
Abstracts and commercial/trade names:
For original studies, abstracts shall not include any reference to commercial/trade names. Only generic names can be used.
For case reports, the trade name may be used but must be accompanied by the generic name.

7. Authors
Authors may submit up to 3 abstracts but present only 1 abstract (for example: 1 abstract as presenting author and 2 abstracts as co-author).
The submitting author must receive the approval of all co-authors before including their names on the abstract.
Each author should be added separately to the submission to ensure proper listing.
Enter first (given) name, and last (family/surname) name for each author, contact details plus institution/affiliation. Please do not list the department/branch in the Affiliation/Organisation field.
One author must be identified as the presenting author.
8. Other rules
Abstracts of the unfinished research will not be evaluated.
Previously published abstracts (in print or any electronic format) or those presented at another meeting are not allowed.
Conflict of interest: The submitting author must disclose any personal or co-author potential conflict of interest.
Contact Information: FDI will only correspond with the presenting author listed on the abstract regardless of who may have submitted the abstract. Thus, make sure to include a correct email address of the presenting author in the field “Email correspondence”.
9. Special Requests
If you have any special requests or if you wish to request that abstracts be scheduled on a specific date, please enter this information in the “Special Request” box when submitting your abstract online.
FDI will NOT change presentation dates/times to accommodate your schedule or requests made after submission.
Please note that it may not be possible to accommodate all special requests, but we will do our best when scheduling the abstracts.

It is my pleasure, as president of FDI World Dental Federation (FDI), to welcome you to the 110th edition of the FDI World Dental Congress (WDC)taking place in Mumbai, India, from 29 September to 2 October 2022. We are delighted to be co-hosting this meeting with the Indian Dental Association (IDA).The WDC brings together leaders across theworld in dental practice, research, academia, and industry to deliver the highestquality and most innovative and effective continuing education (CE).
The world has been through some very challenging times over the last couple of years, but now, we look forward and celebrate the fact that wecan once again meet in person and reunite with dear friends and colleagues, as well as learn from our peers in face-to-face interactions. This sentiment is reflected in the 2022 congress theme‘Reunite and Rebuild Dentistry in the City of Dreams’, where we will be able to enjoy in-person networking experiences, partake in debates and exchange knowledge to make the most of this educational opportunity.
To advance the art and science of dentistry, the WDC will provide a cutting-edge scientific programme with international speakers from around the globedelivering hundreds of CE-accredited sessions and interactive fora,giving attendees an unparalleled learning experience,.The Congress will also feature an extensive industry exhibition. The dental profession and the dental industry are essential partners in delivering oral health to populations around the world. Bridging the gap between the two is even more important today, as new materials and technology are developed to accommodate the latest treatment philosophies, so we hope delegates will visit the exhibition hall to discover all the latest products and services on offer.
