EDEC 2022 - 12th Emirates Diabetes & Endocrine Congress

Emirates Diabetes & Endocrine Congress (EDEC) is organized by Emirates Diabetes Society. EDEC is the region's premier platform to update attendees on the recent advances in the ever-changing field of diabetes and endocrine diseases.

Abstract Guidelines-摘要提交指南

CALL FOR ORAL / POSTER PRESENTATIONS - ONLINE SUBMISSION ONLY

The Emirates Diabetes Society is proud to announce the 12th Emirates Diabetes & Endocrine Congress. The Scientific Committee invites individuals to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations.

Research Reports
Abstracts must contain original scientific data collected by the author(s). All reports must be based on work that has already been completed. No studies "in progress" will be accepted. Any established research design or method may be used.

Submission of Oral/Poster Presentations

Language:
All abstracts are to be written in English. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts where the English structure makes comprehension difficult.

Submission:
All abstracts must be submitted via the abstract portal on the website. This should be limited to a maximum of 500 words and should include the following:

  • Title of abstract
  • Names and contact details of author(s) {organization, city /country, email, phone numbers, fax numbers and mailing address}. Please indicate the name of the presenter/s clearly and provide a 3-line biography of the author/s with your abstract.
  • The abstract must include the following headings clearly: Introduction and Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. (Please provide evidence of ethical approval and funding acknowledgements if any)
  • You will be notified of receipt of your abstract by email. If you do not receive an email within two weeks of submittal or have any additional queries please contact, email: edec@mci-group.com

Selection Criteria
Abstracts will be evaluated through a blind review process and scored based upon the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference topics
  • Relevance / interest to the diabetes and endocrine community
  • Scientific merit of research (including methodological rigor and contemporary contribution to knowledge)
  • Quality, clarity and completeness of abstracts

Oral and Poster Presentation Format
Once your abstract is accepted as an oral or poster presentation, the secretariat will contact you for further information and instruction.

*If you have any problem submitting your abstract through the online system, please contact the Secretariat at for assistance.

Terms and Conditions
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final decision about the abstract acceptance and its scheduling into the program based on topics and time constraints.
  • The language of the conference is English.
  • Each presenter may submit a maximum of two (2) abstracts.
  • Each abstract submission must indicate if the material was published or presented in any prior conferences or if it received any awards.
  • All presenters must register to attend the conference within a maximum of 1 week of acceptance of the abstract and be present at the time of the conference.
  • A certificate of appreciation will be given to all the presenters to honor their presentation.
  • Presenters must not use the session as a marketing opportunity for products/equipment
Publication
  • Abstracts presented at EDEC 2022 and not previously published will be considered for publication in one of the upcoming issues of Dubai Diabetes and Endocrinology Journal

  • You can pay via the below mentioned method:
    1. Credit Card Payment
    2. Bank Transfer (You will receive the invoice & bank details via email)
    No confirmation will be sent until MCI Middle East LLC has received the payment.
  • Registrations are confirmed only upon payment receipt.
  • Registration fees entitles participants to attend all sessions and CME certificates.
  • 5% VAT charges will be applicable on the above mentioned rates.

Cancellation, Refund and Substitution Policy

  • Due to the nature of a virtual congress, our policy is that we cannot accept cancellations or provide refunds.
  • If you cannot attend but did register, you will be given the opportunity to send a colleague in your place. Name changes are possible until 27th Feb 2021, 23:00 hrs (GMT+ 4), should you insist on having the changes carried out after this date, there will be a charge of USD 20.00.
  • In the event of it being necessary for whatever reason to postpone or cancel the Congress, the organizer will not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by the Participant.
  • In the event of cancellation, the participant will be refunded any monies paid after deducting the bank charges.
  • If the Congress is postponed due force majeure to a later date, the participant registration will remain valid and he/she will be allowed to attend the event. However, an administrative fee of USD 50.00 plus bank charges will be applied should a participant opt to cancel their registration and request for a refund.
