Abstract Submission Information and Criteria

1. By submitting an Oral abstract, you agree that the presenting author will register, attend and present in person. By submitting an Excerpta, Electronic Poster or Educational Exhibit abstract, you agree that the presenting author will register, attend and present virtually OR in person.

2. Presenters of accepted abstracts must register at their own expense for ASNR22 and/or SNR XXII.

3. All authors must have disclosure on file in the submission system. Remove authors with missing disclosures prior to submitting abstracts. Email education@asnr.org.  to add authors after the submission deadline.

4. The use of charts, tables and graphics are encouraged if relevant to the research submitted.

5. DO NOT SUBMIT DUPLICATE ABSTRACTS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES OR SUBMISSION TYPES.

6. Changes can be made to submitted abstracts until the deadline.

7. Available ASNR awards include the Cornelius Dyke Memorial Award, the David M. Yousem Research Fellow Award, Outstanding Oral Presentation Awards, and Educational Exhibit Awards.

8. The American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR) and Neurographics encourage presenters to submit manuscripts based on their work to AJNR or Neurographics before considering other journals.

Submission Categories

SCIENTIFIC ORAL PRESENTATION – will be included during ASNR ONLY

• 5-minute presentation plus shared session discussion that summarizes details of original investigative research.
• Required abstract format: Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion.

ELECTRONIC SCIENTIFIC POSTER – will be shown during both meetings

• A visually oriented educational presentation, highlighting the unique didactic advantages of the computer format and focus on its interactive potential.
• Required abstract format: Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion.

ELECTRONIC EDUCATIONAL EXHIBIT – will be shown during both meetings

• A visually oriented educational presentation. Electronic Educational Exhibits highlight the unique didactic advantages of the computer format and focus on its interactive potential.
• Required abstract format: summary of the planned presentation and list of educational objectives. Consider use of Purpose, Materials/Methods, Results and Conclusion when appropriate.
• Live presentation time for select exhibits.

EXCERPTA (ePOSTER) – will be shown during both meetings

• Excerpta should be presented by trainees (resident, registrar, fellow or medical student).
• Dynamic electronic slide presentation that teaches a lesson, states and illustrates a problem in diagnosis, or focuses on noteworthy radiologic appearances of specific diseases, disorders or anomalies.
• Required abstract format: Clinical History, Imaging Findings, Discussion, Teaching Point. Excerpta abstracts must include one figure.
• Excerpta abstracts will be posted on the WFNRS website after the meeting.

For Each Abstract

• Maximum length, not including title, authors, or images: Scientific Oral/Poster or Educational Exhibit: 2,500 characters; Excerpta: 1,000 characters
• Submission site allows uploading of a single JPG file with each submission. This single JPG may contain multiple images, graphics and tables. Only one graphic file may be submitted with each abstract. This single JPG can contain multiple images, graphics and tables.
• At least one reference is required, and up to five references may be included. References should be formatted according to AJNR author instructions.
