第101届日本消化器内视镜学会(JGES)年度会议将2021年5月14日至16日在日本广岛举行。

日本消化内镜学会（JGES）原为1959年成立的日本胃镜学会，1961年更名为日本内窥镜学会，1962年，成为一个法人团体；1973年，学会更名为日本胃肠内窥镜学会，专注于胃肠内窥镜学科的发展，1979年被批准加入日本医学科学协会。该协会成立之初只有280名会员，到2018年已拥有超过34200名成员。JGES致力于通过内镜宣促进消化疾病的研究，发展和推进内窥镜检查实践，提高对患者的护理水平。JGES每年召开两次大会—春季大会与秋季大会（JDDW）。——未经许可，禁止复制摘录转载本站任何内容-领域国际医学会议网。

The 101st Annual Meeting of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) will be held in Hiroshima City from Friday, May 14th to Sunday, May 16th, 2021. It is a great honor and I would like to express my deep gratitude to Prof. Hisao Tajiri, the Senior Advisor, and Prof. Haruhiro Inoue, the President of the Society for giving me this opportunity.

The JGES will be held in Hiroshima for the fifth time, including the autumn meetings in the past when Prof. Tsuneyoshi Yao held at JDDW Hiroshima in 1999. The theme of this time is "Search for Endoscopic Medicine and Scientific Art". Although some people may have a strong image of clinical practice when it comes to endoscopy, Endoscopic Medicine is a science including basic research. Also, there are many technical elements as well as surgery, but I would like you to re-recognize that endoscopy is a scientific art based on theory and evidence, not on individual masterpieces. That’s why I chose this theme.

Not only the 101st annual meeting but also the 100th ceremony of the JGES is also planned to be held in this meeting. We are honored to host the 100th Memorial Ceremony of the JGES in Hiroshima which has well-established history and tradition. Due to the spread of COVID-19 infection, Japanese social activities have been greatly restricted, and they have been even more difficult in many countries overseas. Therefore, to hold this meeting in the best way in the new Corona era, we are currently exploring what kind of formats it can be held.

In Hiroshima, there are two world heritage sites, "Itsukushima Shrine (Miyajima)" and "Atomic Bombed Dome (Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park)". If you desire, you can enjoy delicious Setouchi cuisine in downtown areas such as Nagaregawa and Yagenbori. Please have a wonderful and memorial time there. I hope that many JGES members will participate in this meeting from the novice to the veteran. Everyone, please join us.
