2021年第93届日本胃癌协会(JGCA)年会-虚拟会议将于2021年3月3-5日举行。
日本胃癌协会（JGCA）的前身成立于1962年的日本胃癌研究学会，其使命是通过举办学术会议、出版刊物，提高人们对胃癌的认识，促进胃癌的研究、教育和培训，与相关组织联系协作等，促进和发展胃癌的基础与临床研究并促进其诊断和治疗，为社会做出贡献（未经本站许可，禁止复制摘录转载本站任何内容-领域国际医学会议网）。
The 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastric Cancer Association Guidance on change of the holding method
We, the 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastric Cancer have made preparations
to hold the congress locally with thorough infection prevention measures, considering the impact of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
However, in view of the current situation in which the spread of COVID-19 infection is not likely to converge, the Board of Directors decided to abandon the full-scale on-site holding of the congress and to hold it as a virtual congress.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this change of the holding method may cause to all concerned.
We would like to inform you of the outline of JGCA2021 as a virtual congress as follows.
Core Programs (Message from JGCA President, President lecture, Educational lecture, Special Lecture, Special Program, President's Special Program, Plenary Session, Symposium, Video Symposium, Panel Discussion, Workshop, Virtual Cancer Board)
Core Programs are to be delivered by streaming in real time of the congress using the WEB conference system. Video on-demand of the programs are available from March 18, 2021.
Core Program related Presentation, Encore Presentation, General Presentation (Oral and Poster) is presented by video on-demand on the WEB.
Video on-demand is available from March 3 to April 9, 2021.
- Co-sponsored Seminars and Corporate Exhibitions will be decided in coordination with each sponsor.
- We are sorry, but registration is only available in Japanese.
Detailed information will be announced on the website in due course.
Please be noted that the content of the congress may have to be changed depending on the future situation.

Message from Congress President
The 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Gastric Cancer Association will be held for three-day period from Wednesday, March 3 to Friday March 5, 2021 at the Osaka International Convention Center.
Although the morbidity rate for gastric cancer in Japan is on the decline, nearly 50,000 patients still die from gastric cancer annually. As the current results of treatment for gastric cancer are not yet completed, further diagnosis and treatment are needed to be developed.
I am honored to be the chairman of the General Assembly of the Society, where members of the Japanese Society of Gastric Cancer who engage in the fields of diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer in Japan, will get together. This is the honor for the first time in eight years since Prof. Kosei Hirakawa served as the 85th General Assembly President.
The theme for the 93rd meeting is “Exploring a new world in gastric cancer treatment”
Speaking of "the new world", two things come to my mind: Dvorak's symphony "From the New World" and Osaka's "New World".
Dvorak, a Czech, composed the symphony in America where he moved in early 1890’s.
"From the New World" has flavors of American melodies which inspired him very much, and traditional western musical construction. On the other hand, in 1892, the Meiji Era in Japan, Osaka’s “New World” was developed for the 5th National industrial Expo, at Imamiya village, Nishinari-gun where used be a wasteland. Nowadays, with its deep local atmosphere, the “New World, which has been called “Shin-sekai”in Japanese has become one of the most famous downtowns not only in Osaka but also in Japan.
At this general meeting, we hope to make occasions to disseminate information to dig deeper into our knowledge of gastric cancer, breathe new wind into the fields of study, and challenge undeveloped treatments for future development. From this point of view, we hope to confirm future direction of gastric cancer treatment by discussion delved into current situation and issues in a wide range of fields related to gastric cancer treatment, such as surgery, drug therapy, basic research, multidisciplinary treatment, and education.
At this general meeting, a special lecture will be given by Prof. Shinya Yamanaka, Director of the iPS Cell Research Institute, Kyoto University, and other symposiums, educational sessions, and International Sessions are also planned.
We will try to make our best preparations, so that participants can enjoy the feeling of “the New World” and be satisfied with the meeting.
We would like to ask many to attend the 93rd JGCA meeting.
