2021年第7届亚洲头颈部肿瘤学会(ASHNO)大会将于2021年6月3-5日在马来西亚吉隆坡举行，同时，第13届马来西亚国际耳鼻咽喉头颈外科大会暨马来西亚耳鼻咽喉头颈外科学会第41届年会将同期举行，本次会议由亚洲头颈肿瘤学会(ASHNO)组织，马来西亚耳鼻咽喉头颈外科学会主办，马来西亚肿瘤学会和马来西亚口腔颌面外科医师协会等单位支持；ASHNO大会将提供涵盖头颈部肿瘤学广泛问题的各种科学项目，来自世界各地的代表将分享他们在头颈肿瘤学领域应用先进治疗方法的经验，以及宝贵的学术研究和案例；ASHNO大会每两年举办一次。

亚洲头颈肿瘤学会(ASHNO)于2008年7月21日在美国旧金山成立。其目标是：促进和提高头颈部肿瘤及相关疾病的预防、诊断、治疗和康复知识；促进和推进头颈部肿瘤和其他疾病的研究宣；促进最高的职业道德标准；举办头颈部肿瘤及其他疾病的教育会议；与对头颈部肿瘤和其它疾病有兴趣的组织进行交流。ASHNO是一个多学科的头颈肿瘤学会，其成员来自耳鼻喉科、头颈外科、口腔外科、口腔颌面外科、整形外科、医学肿瘤学、放射肿瘤学、病理学、口腔病理学、放射学、基础或转化科学等不同专业。

SELAMAT DATANG OR WELCOME TO MALAYSIA

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all colleagues from Asia and the world. It is our honor to organize the 7th Conference of Asian Society of Head and Neck Oncology (ASHNO) from 3rd to 5th of June 2021 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Following the great success of 6th Congress in Seoul, Korea, our team has a monumental task to perform to equal if not to do better. This Congress will be held in conjunction with the 13th Malaysian International Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ORL – HNS) Congress and the 41st Annual General Meeting of Malaysian ORL-HNS Society.

We are pleased to organize the conference with the Malaysian Oncological Society and the Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. This is the first time these three societies are collaborating jointly in organizing an international conference. We strongly believe in a holistic approach in managing patients with head and neck tumors. Hence, we hope this conference will increase our multidisciplinary teamwork in managing these patients.

The theme of the conference is “Bridging the Gap”. We have realized that there is still a gap between the developed, developing and the under-developed countries in managing head and neck tumors. Therefore, the programme is made to cater to the needs for all in Asia. There will be a wide array of topics which will range from the latest in technology, medications to the basic needs required in treating head and neck tumors in the respective nations.

In terms of scientific programme, we will provide a platform for young doctors to present their work during pre-congress young doctor’s symposium. Top three presentations will be invited to present in the main symposium. There is also oral and electronic posters presentations during the conference.

The symposia will witness lectures by world renowned speakers as well as regional and local experts. This involves head and neck surgeons, oncologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, radiologists, psychiatrist and many other experts dealing with head and neck cancer. Other pre-congress programmes will include the Microvascular Laboratory Workshop and Post Laryngectomy Rehabilitation Workshop.

The renowned Shangri-La Hotel which is the conference venue is located in the heart of vibrant Kuala Lumpur. It is easily accessible from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with good access to public transport. There are several shopping malls and various attractions in close vicinity. It is also within a walking distance to the magnificent Petronas Twin Towers, still the tallest twin towers in the world! There are also various hotel accommodation, ranging from two to five stars, within walking distance to the conference venue.

When in Kuala Lumpur, one must take the opportunity to taste the local delicacies. We have a melting potpourri of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Arab, Western, Japanese, Korean and many others. You name it, we have it!

We hope this conference will benefit the participants. There is a great commitment from the Organizing Committee, support from the Malaysian Society of ORL-HNS, the Malaysian Oncological Society and Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
