Opportunities for Publication

• Accepted abstracts will be published online in the Annals of Surgical Oncology.

• Authors of abstracts accepted for Oral and Quick Shot presentations and selected poster presentations are invited to submit a manuscript for possible publication in the October issue of the Annals of Surgical Oncology. All manuscripts must be submitted by April 20, 2021. No extensions will be given for this deadline.

• Fellows, residents, and medical trainees presenting an Oral or Quick Shot presentation are required to submit a manuscript for possible publication in the October issue of the Annals of Surgical Oncology in order to be considered for the George Peters Award or Scientific Presentation Award. All manuscripts must be submitted by April 20, 2021. No extensions will be given for this deadline. If a manuscript is not submitted, fellows, residents, and medical trainees will not be eligible for either of these awards.

Thank you for your patience and feedback in our recent member surveys. Your responses, the current state of the pandemic and our ability to successfully negotiate with the Marriott, led us to determine that the safest and most fiscally responsible decision is to transform this year’s annual meeting into a virtual event. The board and staff, with advice from our meeting and legal representatives, spent significant time coming to this decision and believe this is the best path forward to safely educate our members.

During these extraordinary times, the Society remains committed to connecting you with your breast surgery colleagues and industry partners. We have been planning for a robust program designed to provide cutting-edge education in an interactive virtual forum. This year’s meeting will offer a whole new event experience but will bring the same energy, spirit, and collaboration that we always have at the Society’s annual meetings. #ASBrS21 will focus on the latest science, innovations, and practice changing information for breast surgeons including creative learning opportunities, the latest updates in breast surgery and engaging networking events.
