About the Online Program

In consideration of the continued spread of COVID-19, the American Psychiatric Association's Board of Trustees determined that it would be unwise to hold a large in-person meeting in 2021 since the APA would not be able to ensure the safety of those participating. In reaching this decision now, the Board weighed multiple factors, including the health and safety of our members and staff, uncertainty about the future course of the pandemic, the availability of an effective vaccine, and the timing of contract deadlines. The Board has voted to hold the Annual Meeting and the Mental Health Services Conference (formerly known as Institute for Psychiatric Services) virtually. The Board and the APA Administration will work diligently to develop virtual meetings that will provide robust, meaningful experiences and high-quality educational programs for all participants while maintaining safety and public health.

• 135 sessions will be included during the live 3-day meeting. These sessions will feature live interactions with faculty.
• 13.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ hours will be available.
• 400+ scientific sessions will be available as part of an additional APA On Demand product accredited for up to 75 additional hours of CME.
• APA will develop an 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ ABPN-approved MOC-2 Self Assessment module.
• There will be a virtual poster hall.
• Special Intensive Courses will be available in an online program, launching summer of 2021.
• Attendees will have opportunities to earn CME credits through APA OnDemand, the live 3-day meeting, and the Annual Meeting Self-Assessment activity.
• Exhibit and sponsorship representation will be available.

2. Does not include APA Fellows, Distinguished Fellows, Distinguished Life Fellows, or Life Fellows.
3. Mental Health Professional rate is reserved exclusively for Non-medical degree-seeking Students, Mental Health Advocates, and Non-physicians, including but not limited to Chaplains, Nurses, Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
4. Proper credentials, such as a copy of your valid medical student ID, valid student ID, a letter from your program director, business card, a letter from the agency stating your role, or a copy of your certification (whichever is applicable) must be uploaded with your online registration or included with your mailed or faxed registration.

Live Sessions, Replay and CME

Annual Meeting 2021 sessions are designated as a live CME activity, and physicians may claim up to 13.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for their participation during the scheduled session time. Please note, this credit may only be claimed for your participation during the live session as scheduled, which includes live chat throughout the 75 minutes of lecture and 15 minutes of live Q&A discussion with the speakers.

Sessions will be available for replay viewing on the Annual Meeting platform for 24 hours after their scheduled time at no additional cost to registrants. CME credit may not be claimed for these replay sessions if you did not attend the live activity.

Get More with APA Annual Meeting On Demand 2021

All live sessions during the May 1-3 Annual Meeting are also included in the Annual Meeting On Demand 2021 product for viewing, but CME credit for these specific sessions is only available if you attended them live during the May 1-3 meeting. An additional 250 unique sessions are included in On Demand, for which you can claim an additional 75 CME credits through your participation with the On Demand product.
