56th Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology Annual Scientific Meeting（ASM）

Invitation to Attend

I would like to welcome everyone to the ANZSN Annual Scientific Meeting for 2021. As the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to be felt around the world we look forward to gathering our members and guests together to share knowledge and experiences.

With the ongoing uncertainty, despite immense optimism for the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out, the ANZSN Council made the difficult decision to hold the ASM this year virtually again. I know that we all want to meet and share a drink (or two) but the 2020 fully virtual ASM demonstrated that we can still have a highly successful meeting virtually. Indeed, we have taken advantage of this mode of delivery and will increase the number of international speakers at the ASM. The Scientific Program and AwaRd Committee (SPARC), led by Natasha Rogers, are just putting the final touches on the program along with the Local Organising Committee (ably led by Nitesh Rao).

This year will also see the first winner of the inaugural ANZSN Leaders Award as well as a presentation from the 2020 dual winner of the TJ Neale Award (Meg Jardine). There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to network with colleagues, old and new. So I look forward to seeing all of you at the ASM on the 28th of August 2021.
