Dear Friends,

Since its humble beginnings in 2011, the SGANZICS Intensive Care Forum has grown in both size and stature. It now features prominently as one of the leading critical care meetings in the region, if not the world, and is eagerly attended by speakers and delegates the world over.

The 6th SGANZICS Intensive Care Forum was a great success and broke new ground in many areas. We held 2 in-conference Masterclasses and 3 Meet-the-Expert sessions, each featuring renowned international faculty. These were hands-on, small-group workshops that brought the faculty face-to-face with delegates.

The LMIC Challenge Award was introduced to recognise and showcase the work of resourceful colleagues working under challenging conditions in low and middle income countries. This initiative reinforces our already-sizeable commitment to support our colleagues in LMIC.

Following on from the success of the 9th World Congress on Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care, the 6th SGANZICS featured a comprehensive Paediatrics program, comprising 2 full days of lectures and 2 workshops. This was also a year that saw us partner the iSRRS’s 15th International Conference on Rapid Response Systems as sister conferences, to the mutual benefit of both events.

The 7th SGANZICS will build on all of the above to deliver an even more impactful, educational and enjoyable conference for all involved. The scientific program will continue to reflect current trends in clinical practice and cutting-edge research, with several keynote speakers already confirmed. We will cater for more intimate and small-group sessions to promote interaction in a way that is not possible with large-format lectures. We will broaden the offerings to appeal to a wider audience, while deepening the treatment of selected topics by partnering international societies.
