Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Following advice from the Greek Health Authorities we decided to postpone the Congress to next year. We have set up new dates, 25 – 28 April 2021. This is not a decision taken lightly, but the health and safety of delegates, their partners and staff who are involved in the organization of the Congress, come first. Whilst it is unfortunate that we will not be able to meet soon, the situation is outside our control and we follow events and developments on the pandemic.
In our recent Executive Board meeting that was carried out by teleconference, we decided that there will be no other change of dates for the Congress, so one way or another, we will have a Congress next year! lingyuint.The move of the Congress to next April inevitably had repercussions on the Refresher Course, which has been postponed by a year. Announcements on new dates will follow shortly.
We hope that this unfortunate situation will end soon so that normality can return in the near future and we can welcome you all next year in Athens.
We thank all our participants, sponsors and partners for understanding the need to take these steps and we look forward to seeing you in Athens in April 2021 to have a successful 27th ESPN Congress.
Meanwhile, our thoughts and prayers go to all those who have been hit hard by this pandemic.

It is a great honour and pleasure to invite you to the 27th Biennial Congress of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN), which will be held in Athens, Greece, from July 4 to July 7, 2020.
We are working hard to organize an outstanding scientific and educational congress to facilitate the spread and exchange of knowledge, skills and attitudes, between experts, researchers, clinicians and trainees, and to continue the development of pediatric neurosurgery in Europe.
The Congress will include Plenary Lectures, Symposia, Parallel Oral Sessions, Poster Sessions, and Workshops. Awards and travel grants will be announced to promote the participation of young doctors in training.
We plan to offer all of you the opportunity to enjoy an excellent scientific meeting in the warm and hospitable city of Athens.
As you already know, Athens is the city where democracy, philosophy, arts, theater, originated. Athens is the cradle of western civilization. Few people realize that internationally, whatever lies geographically to the west of Athens is referred to as the West, and whatever to the east of Athens, as the East, Middle or Far. Athens has a unique place in human history with important monuments and museums, and presently it is a large cosmopolitan metropolis.
We are confident the ESPN 2020 Congress will be a wonderful and unforgettable event.
