LIVES, 06-09 December 2020, DIGITAL
The novel coronavirus, travel restrictions, quarantine rules, and the health and safety of our global intensive care community have required us to take special measures during these unprecedented times.
For this reason, we have decided to transform our annual meeting, LIVES 2020, into a fully virtual and digital event from 06-09 December 2020.
We will still deliver an outstanding programme of exceptional science that is both interactive, innovative and informative, while connecting our multidisciplinary network of physicians, researchers, nurses and allied health professionals across the globe.
NB: Abstract notifications have been sent to the presenting authors on 22 September. The presenting author will be provided further information with specific instructions as to how abstracts will be managed in the coming weeks. This process has been delayed due to the COVID-19 situation. As always, all submitted and accepted abstracts will be published on the ICMx supplement. |
ESICM’s Annual Congress, LIVES, attracts audiences of over 6,000 physicians, anaesthetists, trainees and nursing and allied health professionals, every year, from every continent and 97 different countries. A diverse faculty of more than 300 international speakers will be joining the Society’s 33rd Annual Congress at the IFEMA, Madrid from 05-09 December 2020.
The congress offers interactive discussion and debates, master classes, demonstrations of the latest technology, simulation exercises, new scientific evidence and advances.
There will, in fact, be 95 abstract sessions, 9 parallel scientific sessions, 8 master classes, 3 diploma preparation courses, 20 interactive sessions with live voting, 15 interactive debates, 25 sessions in the very popular Simulation Centre, the NEXT Lounge and Tech Lounge, the congress exhibition, networking possibilities in our Members’ Lounge and a social programme!
The venue IFEMA offers all modern facilities required for the successful organisation of our congress. It is reachable by public transport from the historic city centre and is located close to the city’s international airport.
We hope that after a day full of inspiring sessions and fruitful discussions you will have time to explore Madrid, a cosmopolitan city with a rich history of art, architecture, culture and cuisine. You may stroll through Europe’s third-largest city, which serves as the political, economic and cultural centre of the country.
