Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We regret to inform you that the ESCR Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 in Dubrovnik (October 15-17) cannot be held as initially planned.
The ESCR leadership together with the local organizing committee acknowledges and greatly appreciates that many of you are on the front line of dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic in your hospitals and are aware that you have other priorities for the foreseeable future. For October, the situation with regards to health risks, restrictions to traveling/meetings and patient burden of hospitals is unpredictable.
Thus, we believe it is not wise to hold the ESCR congress in Dubrovnik as a face-to-face meeting. Instead, ESCR will provide you with an online, virtual meeting programme that will update you on the state-of-the-art in cardiovascular imaging through digital lectures by renowned speakers. An application will be made to the EACCME® for CME accreditation of this event. The preparations for the online meeting have already started, and we look forward to sharing with you more details in the near future.

Dear friends,
It is my honour and pleasure to invite you to the ESCR Annual Scientific Meeting 2020, the most important meeting of non-invasive cardiovascular radiologists in Europe, that will be held in the beautiful town of Dubrovnik, Croatia, October 15-17, 2020, with the general topic „The heart connected“.
Taking into account the needs of already established experts in cardiovascular radiology, but also of radiologists and radiographers with less experience in this field, the ESCR 2020 programme will be well-balanced between advanced and basic level, including continuation of the ESCR Young Club Sessions that were introduced last year with great success. Cardiovascular imaging hot topics, including multiparametric cardiac MRI, functional CT techniques, imaging in cardio-oncology and neurocardiology, artificial intelligence and machine learning will be discussed, partly also through collaboration with ESCR partner societies. CT and MRI workshops will again be offered to those who would like to improve their practical experience using different software applications in the daily clinical routine. During the meeting, participants will be able to meet world-renowned experts in cardiovascular radiology and to share the knowledge and experience with them in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
ESCR Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 will for the first time take place in Croatia, in the beautiful town of Dubrovnik. The Old City of Dubrovnik, at that time known as the Republic of Ragusa, used to be an important Mediterranean sea power in the Middle Ages, and has been on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1979. You will be able to walk on Dubrovnik famous medieval stone walls and see the world’s oldest quarantine, one of the oldest pharmacies, numerous beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains, as well as the real-world filming locations of “Games of Thrones” scenes. Seafood lovers may taste the fresh food from the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
