Every year we look forward, with great enthusiasm, to connecting with our worldwide Bone Infection Community at our Annual Meetings. But given the growing concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic, the EBJIS Executive Committee has taken the difficult decision to postpone the 39th Annual Meeting scheduled from 10-12 September 2020 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to next year.
EBJIS remains committed to our engagements and agreement to our Local host, and therefore we are pleased to announce that the 39th EBJIS Annual meeting has been postponed to next year in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 7-9 October 2021.
The EBJIS Executive Committee has met several times on video conferences and carefully monitored the situation. We have included the views from our Country Delegates from around the world. We unanimously decided that protecting the health, safety, and well-being of our members, partners and attendees is supreme. For this reason, we have reluctantly decided to postpone this year’s Annual Meeting.
In place of the in-person Annual Meeting, we are planning other ways to share knowledge in musculoskeletal infections. We will share additional information on our plans in the coming months.
The global Covid-19 pandemic has considerably impacted the EBJIS finances, and in order to mitigate the financial consequences for our Society we kindly ask all our members to please check their membership status and to kindly settle all outstanding membership fees.
In the meantime, we want to thank you all of you for your ongoing trust, support, understanding and patience.
We look forward to meeting with you in person at our next Annual Meeting, 7-9 October 2021 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Sincerely,
EBJIS Executive Committee
