June 15, 2020 – Today the Association for Vascular Access (AVA), in close collaboration with the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, announced it will cancel its in-person 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting, scheduled to be held September 12-15, due to public health and safety concerns related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
AVA is instead working with scheduled speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and industry partners to deliver a completely reimagined virtual meeting and exposition, AVA AT YOUR FINGERTIPS, from OCTOBER 27-30.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- AVA members can attend AVA at Your Fingertips for $199.00
- Non-AVA members can attend AVA at Your Fingertips for $325.00; this fee includes a 1-year AVA membership
- AVA at Your Fingertips will offer 35.0 CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS through live and recorded sessions, or roughly $5/credit for AVA members
- The AVA at Your Fingertips platform will remain active for 30 DAYS upon conclusion of the live event to allow attendees time to obtain all CEs
- Already registered? The AVA Registration Department will contact you by JUNE 30 with options on how to apply your funds or obtain a FULL refund
- Already booked your hotel room in Denver? The Gaylord Rockies will automatically cancel it and refund your money
- I'm a sponsor or exhibitor: The AVA Exhibits and Sponsorship Department will contact you by JUNE 30 with options on how to apply your funds
The decision to cancel the in-person meeting in Denver did not come lightly. AVA, the Gaylord and other event partners in Denver were in regular contact during the planning of AVA's 34th Annual Meeting and after gathering as much information as possible, concluded that moving to a virtual event was the safe, responsible and appropriate action.

"As we shift gears, however, we are now fully immersed in providing the most dynamic digital meeting experience for our members and attendees possible."

This four-day meeting, from September 12–15, 2020, will provide attendees the opportunity to improve their practice and patient outcomes by focusing on education, product awareness and hands-on practice through clinical educational sessions, motivational keynote speakers, networking opportunities and exclusive hours in the exhibit hall.
More than 1,900 attendees, including a record-shattering 1,385 clinical attendees, took advantage of inspirational general sessions, insightful educational breakouts, a sold-out exhibit hall with 80 exhibitors, and 100+ research posters at AVA 2019 in Las Vegas, the organization's largest in its 34-year history.
