Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the American Society for Neurochemistry, I would like to invite you to join us for an outstanding program being presented at the 50th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Neurochemistry in St. Louis/St. Charles, Missouri on April 18-22, 2018. In addition, we will be continuing our year-long 50th Anniversary Celebration of ASN at the meeting and would love to have a great turnout from all current and former members, particularly those long-term members and past presidents.
Join us for four days of symposia and colloquia designed to address the four major themes of our Society:
- Building the Nervous System
- Glial Cell Biology
- Molecular and Cell Biology of the Nervous System
- Neurodegeneration and Disease
An important component at ASN meetings is the engagement of our society with trainees, therefore special efforts have been taken to encourage young investigator participation. This includes daily poster sessions, short oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts, trainee lunches with plenary speakers, and numerous travel awards.
The meeting will take place at the St. Charles Convention Center, which is attached to the Embassy Suites Hotel and situated within walking distance of the Streets of St. Charles Entertainment District. Historic Main Street at the St. Charles Riverfront is a short shuttle or Trolley ride away. St. Charles is located on the Missouri river and was the first State Capitol of Missouri. It was also the starting point for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. St. Charles is a bustling city and part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Lambert St. Louis International Airport is 10 minutes away allowing for easy travel to and from the meeting. There is plenty to do near the meeting and for side trips as well. The Katy Trail is close by for biking and hiking and the Missouri Wine Country (yes, Missouri!) is a beautiful 30 min drive away. Of course, the City of St. Louis has tremendous activities with the newly redesigned Gateway Arch National Park and the renowned St. Louis Zoo (free of charge).
