2017年ASCB-EMBO联合会议由美国细胞生物学学会(ASCB)和欧洲分子生物学组织(EMBO)联合举办。美国细胞生物学年会(ASCB年会)是国际上规模最大的细胞生物学会议，将吸引超过5000名来自世界各地的专业人士与会。
美国细胞生物学学会（ASCB）成立于1960年，是细胞生物学领域最具影响力的组织，现在全球50多个国家和地区拥有超过9000名会员，自成立以来有32位ASCB成员获得了诺贝尔医学或化学奖。ASCB 致力于推进科学发现，倡导健全的研究政策，改进教育，促进职业发展，增加科技人员的多样性。ASCB通过举办细胞生物学年会、出版刊物等促进细胞生物学领域科学研究和知识的交流。
欧洲分子生物学组织(EMBO)是生命科学领域的卓越代表，在全球拥有超过1700名一流的研究员会员. EMBO主要目标是支持在职业生涯各个阶段的有才华的研究人员，促进科学信息交流，提高他们的国际声誉。
